ColognePride is the joint demonstration of lesbians, gays, bisexuals, pansexuals, transsexuals, transgenders and intersexuals as well as their friends and all those who support them.
Our goal remains full social recognition!
But ColognePride also expresses self-confidence and joie de vivre. The fact that we appear and demonstrate together is what makes the CSD in Cologne so successful, so strong, and so politically and socially effective.
On the one hand, in remembrance of the events on Christopher Street in 1969, on the other hand, looking forward to continue to demonstrate for equal rights, acceptance and social recognition of gays, lesbians, bisexuals, transsexuals, transgenders and intersexuals.
FOR HUMANRIGHTS
MANY. TOGETHER. STRONG!
"The recognition of the inherent dignity and of the like and inalienable rights of all members of the human community [forms] the basis of freedom, justice and peace in the world..." reads the preamble to the United Nations Universal Declaration of Human Rights.
In the LGBTIQ* community, we experience that these human rights are denied or disputed in whole or in part. That even where the principles of the rule of law prevail, we have to experience the social rejection of these human rights.
Human rights are indivisible. We cannot, will not and will not renounce one.
In its political demands, ColognePride names 14 points that are indispensable for a pluralistic society. ColognePride calls on politics and society to name and ostracise the denial of human rights and to influence those who tyrannically and barbarically trample on human rights; be they individuals, groups or entire states.
But how can human rights be made tangible in a pluralistic and diverse world? They must be visible! They must be individual and yet the same for everyone!
With this year's motto, ColognePride makes it possible for all CSD participants to individually adapt the motto to their own reality of life and thus become or remain visible.
So it is lesbian rights, gay rights, bi rights, trans rights, inter rights, pan rights, gender fluid rights and many more that ultimately only add up to human rights.The aim of this universal and yet very individual motto 2023 is to be applicable for several years if possible in the sense of sustainability. In this way, individuals and groups can use the motto „FOR HUMANRIGHTS - Many. Together. Strong!" design and individualise for themselves, new, more diverse terms can be added and thus generate long-term attention.
Here, the underline under the word people represents this individualisation option. We are very pleased to present the motto „FOR HUMANRIGHTS" with so many different terms and are very excited to see which terms best describe you and your individual rights. Here's to a successful, highly visible and loud CSD 2023.

Streetfestival
The CSD Street Festival is the largest street festival in Cologne, of utmost importance in terms of queer politics and immerses Cologne's old town in a proud, colourful and diverse light over three days.
On three stages, our guests experience a 60-hour programme of political discussion, information and regional and international show acts.

Demonstration
The CSD demonstration is, next to the CSD street festival, the highlight of ColognePride. Besides the fact that we are the most beautiful demonstration, we are also the largest demonstration of this kind with around 1.4 million visitors.
You can imagine that it takes an enormous amount of effort to guide so many foot groups and trucks properly through the narrow streets of Cologne's city centre. The planning for the next CSD demonstration begins shortly after the end of the last CSD demonstration. The first vehicles on the morning of the CSD demonstration already line up at sunrise so that the demonstration can start punctually at 12 p.m.

Volunteering at ColognePride
Volunteers are one of the most important pillars of ColognePride, CSD Cologne and the CSD demonstration. For a good and successful success, we depend on the help of hundreds of volunteers. Here we give you a small overview of our volunteer teams during the CSD street festival and the CSD demonstration. Maybe you would like to support us too?
Many of our volunteers have been with us for years. We are like a small family. For your commitment, you will receive the CSD volunteer T-shirt of the respective area as well as a basic supply of food and (non-alcoholic) drinks. You are also cordially invited to our thank-you party. Important: If you would like to become a member of ColognePride e.V. as a volunteer, your membership will be reduced by 50%! The conditions are regulated in our membership fee regulations.
Volunteer - DemoEngel
Without the Demo Angels there would be no CSD demonstration. The demo angels are our guarantee that everything runs smoothly and that every participant knows where to go. They are the extended arm of the demo leadership. No previous knowledge or experience is necessary: During a training session you will be informed about the tasks and the procedure of the demo. The demo angel training on CSD Friday lasts about two hours, but on demo Sunday itself you should plan for the whole day and be well on your feet.
Volunteer - Pride ribbon
The "ColognePride Street Festival" will take place over three days in Cologne's old town. Various information stands and exciting activities, a cultural stage programme and all this without a cent entrance fee.
Numerous collectors will be out and about at the CSD street festival this weekend to hand out the popular Pride ribbon free of charge to our visitors and to collect donations. The work is done in small groups of 2-4 collectors. How long you want to be active as a collector is up to you.
Volunteer - set-up and dismantling
Before we can all celebrate the CSD together, quite a lot has to be set up. For the big and heavy matters, we hire companies. For the small, fine and beautiful tasks, we need exactly you. It's impossible to list all the tasks here, so here's a small excerpt: For example, we always have to put up a lot of fence banners so that the guests know where they have to go.
Another example is the production office, which has to be nicely decorated so that everyone feels comfortable. Then sometimes a few umbrellas have to be put up so that the guests can stand in the shade, or flags have to be mounted so that everything is colourful. As you can see, there's a lot to do during set-up and dismantling, for which we need your support.
Volunteer - Meetingpoint
In the area of the entrance at the Reiterdenkmal, our volunteers from the Meetingpoint will help you with all your questions about the CSD. You can also get all information about ColognePride e.V. and how you can support our voluntary work there. The Meetingpoint is the ideal meeting point for your stroll through our street festival. You don't need to be a CSD guru to help out here. But if you are a friendly person and would like to talk to our visitors, we would be happy to have your support.
Ehrenamt - Backstagebereich
In the colorfully decorated backstage area behind the main stage, there will again be a "Meet & Greet", a meeting place for all our members, helpers and guests.
You will not get bored here, but of course the fun should not be neglected. There is always a lot of laughter - and also the one or other selfie with the artists is possible.

ColognePride is Europe's largest Pride event of its kind and inspires 1.4 million people on the first weekend in July with its two-week supporting programme, the concluding three-day street festival and the large CSD demonstration with around 55,000 participants, approx. 100 trucks and around 1.4 million spectators.
